Founded by Katie Davis Majors in 2008 and based in Brentwood, TN, Amazima Ministries exists to disciple, educate, and encourage the poor and vulnerable in Uganda. The name we chose for this ministry represents what Katie longs to see take root in the lives of the people we serve. In Luganda, a widely-spoken language in Uganda, Amazima (Ah-mah-zee-mah) means “truth.” Amazima desires to reveal the truth of God’s unconditional love through Jesus Christ to the people of Uganda.
The End Goal is Discipleship
Solomon Tatwebwa, Assistant Director of Studies, says it well, “In my planning of what I am going to teach, I have [discipleship] in the back of my mind. This is the end goal: modeling them after the likeness of Christ.” Watch this video as he shares his heart behind all that we do in the classroom.

T{4} Teen Gathering at Amazima

T{4} Teen Gathering is a weekend conference designed to inspire high school girls to bolding live out their identity in Jesus Christ. Amazima Ministries partnered with There4 in Jinja, Uganda and hosted hundreds of teen girls from The Amazima School and surrounding areas on campus. It was a weekend of life-changing Biblical teaching and worship, and we thank God for all He did!

Solomon is a very nice person. I was blessed to be able to eat dinner with him and his spouse at their home. It was an honor, I wish I could have spent more time to get to know him and others at the school.

A few years ago as I perused a book store, the Lord kept putting your book, "Kisses from Katie," in my path. Eventually on another visit, I purchased the book and was so inspired by your story as I have always felt my passion was connected to serving in Africa. Since then, I've sponsored Christmas for two years for an orphanage in Liberia, West Africa, and am sponsoring one of the children there to attend college this year in America. But God is not finished with me yet. As he is not with you. Keep serving!
